Thames Challenge* (Feb)
The inspiration for this challenge came from a group of Royal Marine Commandos, recovering from wounds, injury or illness – mostly sustained on operations with 40 Commando in Afghanistan. Raising money for the Royal Marines Charitable Trust, they rowed 150 miles of the Thames in just 5 days.
So challenge 14 will be to row 150 miles, but given the logistics (and my inability to actually row) I will be undertaking this mileage on a roweing machine, strategically situated in my cellar. As with the Channel Swim & Cycling LEJOG, this challenge will be completed across the month.
