A little RAF excitement

Whoa, I can’t believe it’s been 24 days since my last update. Sorry about that – it’s been a crazy three weeks. With that pesky 9-5 beast being extremely busy, I’ve also had family visiting from Argentina, and have been round the country on the tourist trail: Manchester, Liverpool, York, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen & London. While I haven’t been posting much on the site, I’ve still been keeping up the training since the last challenge (which is good really as the next one is just over a week away). There’s some news that I want to share with everyone, but first a few snaps from a recent visit to the Southport Airshow.

As we arrived at the beach we were greeted by a display by two spitfires, but it was the following display that really got me going. As we stood on the sand looking out to sea there was a sudden rush as two tornados shot past us like bullets. With goose bumps across my body and the hair on the back of my neck standing on end, I only wish I had the £16 million & pilots licence to get one!

The rest of the show was a great afternoon filled with aircraft old & new, and crowds filling the beach interacting with the tri-force presence. What a top day: a great display of British innovation & technology, with an overwhelming sense of patriotism – especially with a phenomenal show from the Red Arrows.
